Last summer, I had the pleasure of photographing Steve, a man in his mid-50s who’s deeply committed to his fitness journey and overall well-being 🏋️♂️.
He asked me for simple, natural portraits taken outdoors near Chicago’s Lakeshore, where he could be shirtless and relaxed, showing his progress and physical transformation with authenticity — not through perfection, but through confidence.
The session had a laid-back vibe, capturing both portraits and lifestyle moments. In some shots, Steve is joined by his dog Jake, who also got a little spotlight with his own mini photo session 🐶📸.
These types of portraits are about documenting growth and personal pride — and doing so in a setting that feels safe, serene, and empowering.
